"I don't like to decorate"

Call sign - "Bob".
Before the war, he tried many different jobs. He worked in construction, as an electrician, assembled custom-made furniture, made suspended ceilings, worked in home appliance stores.
He says simply:
"Whenever I didn't work."
Ordinary life. Work, searching for opportunities to earn and provide for oneself.
How it all began
In May 2024, I received a summons.
Without much thought I ended up in the army.
Began serving in the marines. He got his first combat experience right away in difficult areas - where you quickly understand what real war is.
"Until you get into it yourself, you won't understand."
He worked where he was needed: in the infantry, helped with evacuation, performed tasks together with the unit.
Later, he continued his service as part of the 41st brigade.
Experience that is formed in battle
Over time, he began to work with with a mortar.
This is another level of responsibility — accuracy, coherence, team work.
He doesn't talk about it loudly.
"When there is time, we train ourselves so we don't forget."
But behind these words is constant work on yourself.
And each time an understanding comes:
you learn, gain experience, and become more confident in your actions.
A moment that memorable
One of the first combat episodes he remembers briefly.
Without details and without pathos.
He says that then for the first time he really felt how everything was happening not in words, but in reality.
A few seconds - and you need to act.
Don't think for a long time.
Don't doubt.
Just do what you have to do.
It is in such moments that you understand that you are no longer "new".
You are part of the unit.
Brothers
He speaks briefly but confidently about his calculation:
"Everyone is for each other. We can always agree. We listen to each other."
In combat conditions, it's not just words.
It's trust.
It's responsibility.
It's a team.
The reality of war.
He doesn't count the results in numbers.
He says honestly:
"We'll be told later whether we hit it or not."
But the most important thing is.
Do your job.
Be in your place.
Hold on. together.
What war changes
During this time he saw different directions and different situations.
"Until a person gets there - he doesn't understand."
War quickly puts everything in its place.
And this is where endurance is formed.
Why is it important
He doesn't call himself a hero.
He doesn't like loud words.
"I don't like to embellish."
But behind this simplicity - real combat experience.
And it is from such people that the unit is maintained.
Afterword
Different people serve in the units:
with different experience, from different professions, with different life stories.
But they have one thing in common - the willingness to be part of a team and do their job.
And it is from such decisions that the path begins.
